REDEFINES CLAUSE:

At times it may be found that two or more storage regions defined in the DATA DIVISION are not in use concurrently. In such situations only one storage region can serve the purpose of two or more regions if the region is redefined. The REDEFINES clause are used for the aim which allows the region to be referred to by more than one data name with various sizes and pictures. Let us consider the illustration below.
