Review all of the milestone project steps below. Post questions in the Milestone Virtual Lab Forum discussion area.

Milestone 11

Management and users make important decisions based on system outputs. Outputs present information to system users. Outputs, the most visible component of a working information system, are the justification for the system. These outputs are produced from data that is either retrieved from databases or, more often, input by users.

Good input and output design can make the difference in whether or not an information system is used effectively. User interface design provides a roadmap or dialog that integrates the inputs and outputs.

In this milestone, you will design outputs, inputs, and user interface for the CTT System.

Milestone 11 Instructions

For this milestone you will be using the following templates/resources:

Outputs - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Inputs - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Interface - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Milestone 12

In performing object-oriented analysis (Milestone 7), we identified objects and use cases based on ideal conditions and independent of any hardware or software solution. During object-oriented design, we want to refine those objects and use cases to reflect the actual environment of our proposed solution.

In this milestone, you will first transform the use case course of events prepared in Milestone 7 to be a design use case. Secondly, we will model the use case with an object robustness diagram. We will also construct a sequence diagram for the use case. Finally, we will transform our object class diagram from Milestone 7 into a design class diagram.

Milestone 12 Instructions

For this milestone, you will be using the following templates/resources:

Design use-case - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Sequence diagram for the analysis use case - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Partial design class diagram - create using Visio or other drawing tool
Note: Omit the object robustness diagram.
