problem1. Make two sample functional dependencies, one to display a single attribute primary key and one to demonstrate a multi-attribute composite key. As well, summarize (in a sentence or two) the role and purpose of a foreign key and referential integrity. Note any assumptions
problem2. Make an ex E/R Diagram for a fictitious business. Consist of at least three entities. Note any assumptions.
problem3. Convert the E/R model (created in problem #2) to a relational model. Note any assumptions.
problem4. Demonstrate five functional dependencies which exist in the relational model (that you created in problem #2). (Use appendix #6 as reference for this problem)
problem5. For each normal form required (1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF, and 4NF), describe in a sentence the conditions which should be true in order for that normal form to be meet.
problem6. For each normal form required (1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF, and 4NF), make an ex of conversion to that normal form. (For ex, you would demonstrate the conversion from none to 1st normal form, 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd normal form, and so on. (Note (1): If you are having a difficult time creating a table which can be converted from 1st to 4th normal form, you can make multiple tables to show conversion between different normal forms. Note (2): You are not required to know any normal form higher than 4th for this course. Thus, you would not need to demonstrate the conversion from 4th to 5th normal form).
