Database Questions

1. A local college recruits both full time and part-time staff. How will you illustrate this scenario using a specialization hierarchy (include some sample attributes).

2. From your understanding and research, what is the difference between partial and total completeness. Illustrate with examples.

3. Read and study the ERD of the STUDENT schema (diagrams attached). Refer to schema description if needed (attached). Submit a text document to identify all entities and their relationships. For each entity, specify entity name, primary key, and foreign key along with the name of parent entity. For each relationship, specify type of relationship (cardinality) and business rules.

For example:

Relationship: 1: M between Instructor and Section.

Business rules: an instructor can teach zero or many sections; a section will be taught by one and only one instructor.

IT Project Management Questions

Question 4: (200-250 words with references APA and samples if possible)

There are many different types of charts, like Pert and Gantt, used in project management scheduling and for doing a variety of project tasks.

Bring in what you know, you can research into, know from personal and work experience, and provide a summary in 200 words with references Samples of them would be good as well.

Question 5: Create a Work Breakdown Schedule with the following and Include at least three levels in your diagram:

A small equipment dealership in Ohio is looking to expand their reach by offering a mobile application that would allow customers to do better business. The APP would give the customer a way to contact the parts, sales or service department with a simple click in the app as well as getting inventory of current equipment for sale. The app could be expanded to cover additional functions if needed.

External Event: The management has had numerous requests for customers on creating a mobile support site as well as a possible application to search equipment inventory.

Error or omission in scope of product: The original scope included a parts ordering system on the app as well. The programmer failed to examine the needs of this system and it did not get included.

Error or omission in scope of project: The project listed a timeframe of 4 months in the scope. This was not feasible because the programmers needed to create a system that would integrate with another company's inventory system for it to function in the APP.

Value-added change: The ability for customers to look at inventory and immediately contact a salesperson is a vital change. This will allow quicker contact with the customer and to move inventory more quickly.

Risk response: The application is to integrate with the inventory system for the equipment. The system had a version of their database that would not function with the app and required a version update to allow the inventory to sync correctly.

Question 6: Only Answer number 4 highlighted

Project Planning (Answer number 4, 2 pages double spaced or one page single spaced)

1. A proposed outline for the project plan.

2. A table that shows team member roles and responsibilities for the project as well as an estimate of how many hours that will be spent on each part of the plan.

3. A schedule of internal deadlines that your team plans to complete the project. Include the individual responsible for meeting each deadline.

4. An analysis of any risks the team perceives in accomplishing the project planning. (The project is attached if needed for any reference to the planning portion)

5. A list of resources that will be used to complete the project plan, including an initial bibliography.
