Overview

This assignment helps you in beginning to use Extensible Markup Language (XML) by provide a series of simple activities that ask you to think about the nature of the data being used in XML files and how to manipulate them.

Identify business situations where non-relational data management strategies are preferred
Describe and compare multiple data management strategies including XML, NoSQL, and Hadoop
Create correct designs using XML, NoSQL, and Hadoop techniques and technology
Describe the concepts and techniques of XML and the role it plays in transferring data across the Internet
Demonstrate the use of XML techniques for a business situation

Directions: This is assignment is conceptually simple and is intended to get you started on the mechanics of using XML.

You should edit your XML, XSD, and XSL files using Notepad++, which will help you to check syntax and aids our grading process. When completed, please upload your Word document under the "Assignments" tab. Please use a document naming convention that allows us to determine your name. EXAMPLE: "LastName_FirstName_Assn2.docx".
