These  servers are responsible  for top  level  domains such  as com org net edu, and  going  and all  the country  top level  domains  such  as uk for ca and jp. As of this  writing  spring  2004 the company  network   solutions maintains the TLD servers for the com top  level  domain and the company educause maintains the TLD server for the  edu tog level  domain.
