Section 1 - Heuristic or Algorithm

The first section of your report should be a clear explanation of the heuristic or algorithm you developed to achieve the assigned task.
It should contain the following:

- Clearly set out steps and/or
- Flowchart of the steps and decisions.

You might also provide:

* a spreadsheet with formulas and calculations into which a user could just enter relevant figures and/or

* a program into which numbers can be entered

Any spreadsheet or program should be supplied as a downloadable file or on a USB stick - so that others can use it when they assess your heuristic/algorithm.

Remember, this section has to be followed by another person to use with two assigned towns so that find the cheapest way of travelling between the two towns.

They need to be able to do this within an hour. This hour timeframe excludes time waiting on the phone for ticketing services or travel information services.

Section 2 - Your Results

This section should show your results for travelling between your two assigned towns. Remember it must shows the results for each of the following:
a single person travelling for less than 1 day (24 hours)
a single person travelling for more than 1 day
2 adults and 2 children travelling for less than 1 day
2 adults and 2 children travelling for more than 1 day.
You could show these results in a well-designed table or spreadsheet.

Most likely, you will need to produce the following

- a spreadsheet or program into which you can enter the required parameters.

Section 3 - Assumptions and Logic

This should include the assumptions provided to you in the Brief document. It should also include:

- your logic for deciding that you have selected the optimum way of travelling.

For example: how did you decide that it was better to go to a destination by ferry than by road or rail?

- any additional assumptions you used and your justification for using them.
