1. Start your computer, and log on as NetAdmin, if necessary.
2. Right-click Start and click Network Connections. Right-click Ethernet0 and click Status to open the Ethernet0 Status dialog box.
3. Click Details. In the Network Connection Details list box, the physical address of your NIC (its MAC address) is the third item from the top. Write down the MAC address, and then click Close twice.
4. Open a command prompt window. Type ipconfig /all and press Enter. Your MAC address is listed under Ethernet0 as "Physical Address." If you have more than one interface, each interface is listed along with the physical address.
5. Type getmac and press Enter. Your MAC address is listed along with the Windows internal name for the interface. The getmac command displays the MAC address for all interfaces. Verify that the address it displays is the same as in Step 3.
6. Close all open windows, but leave your computer running for the next project.
