CAPSTONE PROJECT ASSIGNMENT- PHASE 5 INSTRUCTIONS

Application Development

You will complete this phase using Microsoft Visio and a web development Integrated Development Environment (IDE).To complete Phase 5 of the capstone project, you will need to design and create the Network Diagram, Cloud Computing Diagram, and Graphical User Interface (GUI). Submit all files to Blackboard that are needed to complete the specific requirements listed below.

1. Design a Detailed Network Diagram for a Distributed System

a. List the global locations where the systems will be housed.

b. Develop a minimum of 10 network node design, including:

i. ISP/bandwidth/caching devices,
ii. Load balancers,
iii. Firewalls,
iv. Routers, and
v. Switches.

2. Design a Detailed Cloud/Distributed Computing Diagram

a. Identify a client-server architecture such as:

i. Three-layer client-server architecture, and
ii. N-Tier Architecture.

b. Develop a minimum of 10 server node design, which could include:

i. Storage Area Network (SAN),
ii. Database servers,
iii. Application servers,
iv. Web servers,
v. Integration services, and
vi. API services.

3. Graphical User-interface (GUI)

1. Choose 1 of the following transition procedures from the previously developed use cases to build your menu hierarchy:

A. Use Case groupings by first-cut menus, or
B. Storyboards.

2. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Visual Basic are the preferred languages that should be used to design the client-side (user) system GUI prototypes for your solution. However, if you would like to use other programming languages, ask the course instructor for permission. The website can be simple, but must conform to the basic User Interface (UI) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI) standards.
Note: A template or WSIWYG website cannot be used.

3. Develop a minimum of 4 GUIs.
