You are required to build up a content management system for the subsequent scenario:
"A Travel Information (NTIK) system is to be designed to provide travellers to access to an electronic one-stop travel ‘independent traveller’ services information system. The NTIK will aim to provide up to date information regarding all ‘Nordic’ destinations, activities, carbon footprint, well known sights, tours and so forth for independently minded travellers who have access to the WWW, primarily for ‘Nordic’ countries that is, Norway, (consisting of Svalbard van Mayen), Sweden, Denmark, Finland and regions administered by the Sami ("Lapland. Users will require a clickable ‘map’ style interface from that they will want to explore suitably tailored web-content so as to create the NTIK as user-friendly as possible."
Your client will give further details as the system is iteratively developed (that is, a set of more detailed requirements will be given each week throughout client briefing sessions). To meet user wants, an essential part of the system is which you give a searchable data set about travel destinations. This might be achieved using a collection of locally indexed documents and/or by leveraging a search engine (such as Google). You are STRONGLY encouraged to leverage Web 2.0 tools and XML technologies and other technologies with that you are already familiar as part of this task.
You must build up the system using a good standard lab based PC but should ideally design the system so that it can be easily ported to mobile devices which travellers have with them. More details on this characteristic will emerge from the client. However good "visualisation" is needed, using a strong unifying visual theme.
