I am having trouble how to go about comparing my computer with the one given in this exercise. See the instructions below and my attempt to do this table. Please also provide the best way to approach this table with an example. Help! Thanks.

In 1964 one of the most popular business computers was the IBM 1401.
IBM built thousands. You can see a picture of a 1401 at:
http://www.ed-thelen.org/comp-hist/BRL64-i.html

You have heard many times how much more powerful your PC is than the old computers. In this exercise you are going to compare your PC to the IBM 1401.

I want you to use the statistics below to determine:

A. How many 1401 computers would be required to match the processing speed of your PC, how much they would cost, what would be the monthly maintenance charges and the floor space required to house the devices. Ignore any instruction width considerations. Compare raw speed only.

B. How many memory (core) modules would be required to match the memory on you PC, how much they would cost, what would be the monthly maintenance charges and the floor space required to house the devices.

C. How many disk drives would be required to match the internal disk drive on your PC, how much they would cost, what would be the monthly maintenance charges and the floor space required to house the devices.

D. How many 1403 Printer printers will be required to match the speed of your printer, how much they would cost, what would be the monthly maintenance charges and the floor space required to house the devices. (If you do not have a printer do the comparison assuming you have a 6 page-per-minute printer.

E. What is the combined total cost, monthly maintenance charges and floor space required to have 1401 components to match your PC's capabilities?

Note: IBM's name for the computer was "1401". Other components of the 1401 computer were based upon the 1401 name -- such as the 1403 printer, 1405 disk drive, etc.)

Data:

IBM 1401 Computer. Processor speed: 1,000/sec, Cost $67,000, Maintenance $1,600/month, Floor space 80 ft sq

IBM core memory modules: Memory 16,000 bits. Cost $84,000, Maintenance $1,200/month, floor space 1- ft sq

IBM 1405 Disk drive: Capacity 20,000,000 characters, Cost $42,000, Maintenance $1,800/month, Floor space 8 ft sq

IBM 1403 Printer: 120 pages/minute, cost $33,000, Maintenance $725/month, Floor space 40 ft sq.

Assume that it is possible to connect all of these devices into one multi-computer configuration.

Ignore electrical power, air conditioning, and other costs.

Please present you answers in a table:

For each of the four devices, your table should include at least the following items:

a. You PC's capacity

b The number of IBM 1400 units required to duplicate your PC's capacity

c. Total purchase cost

d. Total monthly maintenance

e. Floor space in Square feet.

f. Floor space in some unit other than ft sq -- such as the how many living rooms in your house would be required to hold the equipment, or football fields, or aircraft carrier decks, etc.

You table should provide purchase cost, maintenance cost and floor space totals.

What was the surprise device in the calculation?
