Assignment: Expanding Your HTML5 Website

Description of LASA:

In this assignment, you will expand the website you created in LASA 1 to include content that presents advanced HTML5 concepts, such as animation, local storage, location-aware applications, and drag-and-drop (DnD) processing.

Scenario:

On the basis of your success in building a website with basic HTML5 features, Acme Products has requested that you expand your HTML5 features website to include the following:

• Sample animations
• Applications that use local storage
• Location-aware applications
• DnD processing

Note the following points when expanding the website:

• The content and applications you present must be your own.
• You can include related links to noteworthy HTML5 content and applications you encounter.

Tasks:

Part 1: Website

Expand your existing site to include the following pages.

An Animations Page

Develop and integrate at least two functioning animations, which illustrate HTML5 support for text and graphic animation.

A Local Storage Page

Develop a local storage application that stores and later retrieves specifics about the user, such as greeting users by name when they return to the site.

A Location Aware Page

Develop a location-aware application that determines the user's current location and displays related content, such as the current weather.

A DnD Page

Develop an application that utilizes DnD processing; ensure that all code is properly written and all output is clearly identifiable.

Video and Audio

Integrate the video and audio in pages of your choice. They may or may not reside on the same page.

Part 2: Cover Letter

Complete the following tasks using Microsoft Word:

• Prepare a 1-page professional cover letter, which summarizes your website project and your design.
• Include a link to the website you developed.

Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organize manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
