You will then write a full critique of your assigned article that will be anywhere from 2 to 5 pages long. The paper is due July 1st. All papers will be double spaced 11pt font Times New Roman. Your paper should be concise. Papers over 5 pages will not be accepted and will receive a zero!

Full Critique: (Due July 1st in class)
Your full critique should answer the following questions:What new information do the concluded results add to the body of scientific knowledge? How does this research pertain to thermodynamics? What thermodynamic principals are used?Is the research reproducible?Did they provide enough detail to duplicate their work?If not, what is missing? (Find something, ie. Frequency of samples taken, thermocouple type, erroranalysis, references) What is the next step to conducting the research? What research could you do to add to this research? (Be detailed, what would your hypothesis be, whatmight be some of your results and conclusions, what mathematical methods might you use)Finally give your honest opinion about the paper. Was it cool, crappy, revolutionary, mediocre? Beexpressive and detailed as to why you have that opinion.
You must reference the document with a references section following ASME format. Any plagiarism willresult in a zero. Use the third person except for your opinion paragraph. Have the writing center checkyour final write up and provide their edits with your final paper.

The effect of computer technology and simulations on introductory thermodynamics teaching and understanding does aid in assisting students to come up with a more vigorous way of analyzing thermodynamics with the help of simulations (Eileen L. Lewis, 1993). Studies indicate that students often have difficulties generalizing science instruction to the natural world (Eileen L. Lewis, 1993). The research was conducted by the introduction of simulation of real life problems of the students in the core curriculum. The investigation resulted in a tremendous increase in the number of students that were distinctly able to differentiate between heat energy and temperature as well as being able to give an explanation of the natural occurring phenomena. At the end of the research, the students had the ability to give a broad view of the model of insulation together with that of conduction.

Though the research was successful, some drawbacks were also experienced in that the comprehension of other concepts like thermal equilibrium was limited (Eileen L. Lewis, 1993). Despite the fact that the desired outcome was not attained, the concluded result does add new information to the body of scientific knowledge in that the integration of simulation in the curriculum especially when conducting real life thermodynamic problems is the way to go as a rational as well as tremendous improvement in the student's ability to analyze thermodynamics is attained. Therefore, integration of simulation in thermodynamics is of importance to the science knowledge as shown in the above discussion.
