This November we the people will decide who will lead our country as the United States President. As we have discussed in class, government policy IS health policy. Governmental regulations, programs, and political positions affect the health of the citizens of our nation. Watch one national election debate OR conduct research on one of the candidates running for our national election (this may also include the Green or Libertarian party candidates). Then write a 4 - 7 page paper on the results of your research, including your opinion. Of note, apha.org MUST be used as one of your three required references.

Answer the following questions for your paper (the questions will be your paper headings). Each answer should be at least a paragraph (roughly 5-7 sentences) long. Each question in worth 10 points each. Correct APA style is worth a total of 25 points.

Which political candidate did you choose and what is his or her background (political or business)?

What political topic (such as immigration, health care, gun control, etc.) did you choose to address and what is the candidate's stance on the selected topic?

How does this political topic relate to public health or health policy and what are the implications of government policy on the selected topic?

What is your personal opinion on the topic you selected?

What is your personal opinion on the candidate you selected and the upcoming election in general?
