Think about an artificial animal cell which contains 0.3 mmol/L NaCl (MW: 58.5 g/mol) and 0.01 mmol/L glucose (MW: 180 g/mol) in the cytoplasm. Determine the volume change of the cell when it is placed in the following solutions:
(1) Distilled water
(2) A solution containing 0.02 g/L NaCl and 0.0018 g/L glucose

(3) If the cell membrane is permeable to Na+ and Cl- but not to glucose. How will your answers differ?
