The three main characteristics that define apopulation are its density, dispersion and demographics. First, define each of these three characteristics. Then select one animalspecies of interest to you other than humans, and give anappropriate unit of measurement that might be used for measuring density in a natural population of your chosen species. Describe amethod you could use to obtain actual density data. Next, describea common dispersion pattern you would expect to see for thisspecies, and give a biologically sound reason as to why thisdispersion pattern exists. Then draw the survivorship curve thatwould most likely show the pattern exhibited by a naturalpopulation of your animal, based on your knowledge of its life history and behavior. Finally, explain the survivorship and reproductive factors that influence the shape of thecurve.
