The problem: -

Deaf blind people have a huge problem when crossing the streets. They always need assistance from a sighted person or a trained dog to cross the street. There is no device in the market now that can help them cross the street with no assistance.

Possible design: -

The devise will consist of two main parts. The first part is the FM or AM transmitter. The second part will be the FM or AM receiver. The FM or AM transmitter will be stationary and will be attached to small MP3 player with one audio sound that loops. The audio sound will be timed according to the traffic light of the intersection. The sound intensity will increase when the traffic light will switch to red.The FM or AM transmitter will have a specific signal number on it that can be read by braille or by writing. The FM or AM transmitter will be in a weather resistance box that can be locked. The second part, which is the FM or AM receiver will be portable and easy to use. The FM or AM receiver will be attached to an amp with a speaker that will vibrate and make sound in the same time. The FM or AM receiver will have a display and a number keypad that is arranged in a way that can be easy to use. When the user wants to cross the street, he will read the signal number and then put it in the FM or AM receiver and the receiver will pick up the sound. When the speaker vibrates with a steady sound that means it's safe to cross, and if it's a fast beat then it's not safe to cross.

The requirements of each main part: -

*The FM or AM transmitter: -

1- A small the FM or AM transmitter that has an audio cable.

2- A small MP3 player with a loop audio sound with a repeated beat with high bass.

3- A weather prof box that has a lock.

4- A amp with a strong speaker.

5- An AC adapter.

*The FM or AM receiver: -

1- A radio receiver with a display.

2- A pocket amp with a speaker.

3- An audio splitter and headphones.

4- A small casing that can be used to put all the components and can be held by the user.

Advantages

Disadvantages

1-      Very cheap.

2-      Can be used by anyone.

3-      Light weight.

4-      No health concern.

5-      Small design and portable.

1-      The signal can be interfered which can be risky.

2-      Limited distance so it can be used for very long streets.

3-      Two transmittersshould be installed on one intersection.

4-      There are some laws concerns with the use of radio signals.#question..
