The environmental pollution has become a biggest threat  to humanity. To over-come this problem a suitable preventive legislation is need of hour. The problems of acid rain ,ozone layer depletion, global  warming have started in 1960 and needed involvement of common man to scientifically analyses the causes and effect of these problems.

The Department of environment was established in India in 1980 to ensure a healthy environment for country. Later it became the ministry and environment and forest in 1985.
