3. The study design (i.e. Choose the study design that is most appropriate to address your research hypothesis; justify your choice by comparing it to other possible designs)

4. Target population (i.e. Define the target population in detail)

5. Sampling process and recruitment strategies (i.e. Explain in detail. how you plan to sample from your target population)

6. Data collection method(s) (i.e. Explain in detail how you plan to assess study factor and outcome. How do you plan to asscss other characteristics involved, such as con founders?

Are there any follow-up procedures?)

7. Timeframe (i.e. List the specific activities to be undertaken, with specific time frames.

This should include any prior and subsequent parts of the research if applicable)

8. Ethical considerations (i.e. Provide a brief statement regarding the ethical implications of the research)

9. Potential bias (i.e. Discuss potclltial biases occurring in your study and how you plan to control them; you can refer to previously outlined design issues)

Planned statistical analysis, sample size calculation, budget, and administration issues need not be covered in your research plan!

However, you should be realistic! For example, assume that you are writing 'a grant application for NH&MRC. NH&MRC will fund projects for up to three years and only in exceptional circumstances that need special justification, up to five years. The budget is not limited, but it is certainly very difficult to receive more than AUD I 00,000 per year. :
