problem 1:

Take around 15 index cards and a flashlight which is opaque on all sides (so that light shines just via the front) into a very dark room. After placing all the 15 cards over the beam of light, slowly take away the cards one at a time till you can barely detect the light and then count the number of cards which remain over the light. After a few minutes, the light must start to look brighter. When this is the case, add up a card and see if you can still see the light. Repeat this procedure of gradually adding cards over a 15-minute period. Were you capable to detect a rousingly dim light the longer you spent in the dark?

Distribute one cup with sugar water and one with the fresh water. Take a sip of sugar water and swish it around in your mouth for some seconds without swallowing it; steadily, it must tasteless sweet. After swallowing it (or spitting it back to the cup), taste from the cup having fresh water. Did the taste of fresh water surprise you? describe how?

problem 3:

Rub your index fingers softly over a piece of very coarse sand-paper a few times and rate its coarseness on the scale from 1 (much soft) to 7 (much coarse). After a minute or two, rub the same finger over the paper and yet again rate its coarseness. Did your perception of the coarseness modify? describe how?
