Research on Best air pressure:

Once we had green light to go on with sand blasting process. We had conducted a few experiment testing and analysis. First of all we had sort out the entire blade from production which had burrs after brushing process into sand blasting experiment. We check through every single blade by using microscope. We run sandblasting test on a normal sand blaster by setting the air pressure amount. With this we will check whether the burrs are able to be fully removed and to ensure that the pressure we apply will not damage our blade cutting edge.

Experiment data:

Table: Test result on air pressure

In this research, we notice that 3.0 bar air pressure are almost able to remove all burrs. But in medical industrial we are not allow to have a single imperfect product ship out to customer side. We had tried on 3.0 above bar air pressure, but the result is not so good. Reason is due to high pressure had damage our blade cutting edge even we had blast at the back bone of our blade.

We had face problems in using sand blasting at this moment. Soon or later we found out that is the way we handle the blade rod are not consistent. We are using fixed sand blast nozzle and we move the blade rod horizontally. This cause the inconsistence of movement and lot of vibration caused during movement. To avoid this happen, we had decided to make the sand blast nozzle move instead of moving the blade rod horizontal.a
