In addition, red leaf plum trees also have a purple pigment that absorbs substantial amounts of light ranging from 525-600 nm. Insignificant amounts of other wavelengths of light are absorbed by this pigment. If you were to have repeated your photosynthesis experiment on chloroplasts from red-leaf plum trees, your results would have been generally the same as those you got for the spinach leaves.
