Question: Reach capabilities in the sagittal plane can be determined graphically using anthropometric data as shown in the figure on the following page. For both fifth percentile famale and ninety-fifth percentile male U.S. civilians estimate the following:
a. Xhand and Yhand for shoulder flexion angles of thirty and sixty degrees, with the elbow and wrist straight.
b. Xhand and Yhand for shoulder flexion fixed at sixty degrees and included elbow angles of 150degree and 120 degree(elbow flexion of 30 degree and 60degree)
c.Three dimensional reach capabilities can be predicted by using Euler angle transformation. These Euler angles may be described in terms of clinically-measured joint angles as long as the order of the transformation is considered. Spherical coordinate transformations can be substituted for the Euler angle transfoemations as long as the proper alignment of axes is used. With these consideration in mind, estimate Xhand and Yhand and Zhand for a shoulder flexion angle of 30degree and a shoulder abduction angle of 45 degrees, with the elbowand wrist straight.
