You are employed as design consultant on a project to build a new civic centre. The building is intended to be a landmark within the city, and part of the design brief is that it should be attractive and eco-friendly, using sustainable resources where possible.

It is decided that the new building should be quite striking. The decision is that the roof should be metallic. Consider three metals that would be appropriate to use. In your discussion you should emphasise how the properties of the materials lend themselves to this use. Decide on one metal to recommend and outline why you have chosen this relation to its properties instead of the other two.
