Problem:

Question 1: Describe the joint, lever and the opposing muscles activities that you use while doing arm curls. In your description make sure to describe the lowering of the weight as well as raising the weight.

Question 2: How would you differentiate between the origin and insertion of a skeletal muscle that moves a synovial joint?

Question 3: James and John were hired to do gardening work in their aunt Jean's garden. Jean wanted them to move a large boulder and provided them with a pry bar. However, the two boys could not agree on how to use the pry bar. James wanted to use it as a type I lever and John wanted to use it as a type II lever. Neither one wanted to use the pry bar as a type III lever. Compare the lever types and the advantages and disadvantages of each in moving the large boulder.

Question 4: What kind of joint are you going to investigate in today's exercise (writing)? And what kind of movements would you expect from this joint? When listing the movements describe the opposing muscles and how they cause movement of this joint?
