Problem:

Question 1: Can anyone tell me the significance of having a shorter refractory period in motor nerve fibers? I have to write a paper on a lab we did which we recorded 2 different motor nerve fibers in earthworms. I understand the concept behind refractory period but I guess I'm having a difficult time figuring out the reletive significance of one nerve having a shorter refractory period than the other.

Question 2: What are euchromatin and heterochromatin? How are each formed?

Could someone help to explain the answer of these questions.
