Part 1.
Suppose you go back in time to Mendel's pea garden, and you come across an experiment where he has crossed purple with white flower colored pea plants. You count the F1 offspring and record that 445 are purple and 437 are white. (A) What would be the genotypes of the parents? Use P and p to represent the alleles for purple and white respectively. (B) Name and describe the hypothesis (or sometimes referred to as a law) that describes the pattern that you observed (Include your knowledge of cell division in your description)? 
Part 2
Now you want to perform a cross of only of the purple flowered plants from this F1 generation (remember that these plants can just self-fertilize). What would be the expected F2 genotypic and phenotypic ratios?
Part 3
You now see Mendel performing a new experiment and he tells you that he is crossing a purple tall plant with a white dwarf plant. And he further describes that the purple tall plants are heterozygous for both characteristics. (A) What is the probability that any one plant in the next generation is white dwarfed? (B) Name and describe the hypothesis (or sometimes referred to as a law) that describes the probability that you expect to observe (Include your knowledge of cell division in your description)?
