A patient shows up at the ER after two days of vomiting. Lab results show a blood pH of 7.52. What is normal blood pH and what could be the cause of the pH change? Name at least two actions his body may take to correct the shift.
Normal pH I believe is ~7.41, I assume a higher pH would be a more basic due to the vomiting (expulsion of acid) so metabolic alkalosis would result.
