Locate the 68HC11 microcontroller in the HC11D0 schematic. (A microcontroller is a microprocessor with built-in RAM, ROM, and I/O ports.) Pins 31-38 are the low-order address bus (A0-A7) multiplexed (shared) with the data bus (D0-D7). Pins 9-16 are the high-order address bus (A8-A15). The low-order address bus is demultiplexed (selected and latched) from the shared address/data lines by U2 and the AS (Address Strobe) line.
