Incisors are generally used to pre-process food items. In other words, they are used to take bite-sized portions out of a large food item. Of the three most common food items in a primate diet (fruits, leaves, insects), which do you think requires the most extensive processing by incisor teeth? Would you expect that primates that feed extensively on that food item would have relatively broad or relatively narrow incisors?
