From the analysis of SST and NHF we conclude that in the western Arabian Sea, SST is the main factor that affects the heat content but in the eastern and central Arabian Sea both SST and net surface heat flux played a major role in influencing the heat content.

It showed a decreasing trend from 1991 to 2008. During the southwest monsoon season western Arabian Sea exhibited large heat flux and eastern Arabian Sea experienced minimum heat flux. But during winter season Eastern Arabian Sea showed high net heat flux and central Arabian Sea exhibited minimum net heat flux.
