study the relationship between the variables x1 and x9 in the year 2000 and the year 2009. What is your  hypothesis about the relationship between these variables? Use basic statistics to study this (i.e graphs, correlation, linear regression). Between the year 2000 and 2009 has the relationship changed? If "yes", what could have caused this?
