1) Build the relations for the dependence of the melting temperature of a 30 bp DNA duplex on the G-C content. For a series of DNA chains where we differ the number of G-C pairs, plot how the Tm changes as a function of f, the fraction of G-C pairs, ranging from 0.33 (i.e. 10 G-C pairs) to 0.67 (i.e 30 G-3) pairs.
From the observation and what other factors (other than G-C content) seem to control Tm?
2. Assuming we have two actin filament 10 microns long connected by 10 myosin motors and how long would be required to move the two filaments past each other 5 microns? describe how much energy is required?
