• Resistance of 240-volt winding R2 = 0.0075Ω,
• Leakage reactance of the 2400-volt winding Xl1 = 1Ω,
• Leakage reactance of the 240-volt winding X12 = 0.01Ω,
• The exciting admittances on both sides are negligible.
a. Draw the equivalent circuit referred to the high-voltage side.
b. The transformer is used as a step-down transformer at the load end of the feeder (distribution line) whose impedance is (0.5 + j2.0) Ω. Determine Vs at the sending end of this feeder when transformer delivers rated load at rated secondary voltage and 0.8 lagging power factor.
