Design a DC current source to meet the following specifications:
- Current source value: 100 u-amps +/- 1% (over all possible load and supply voltage conditions).
- Output resistance: >20 Mohms.
- Available DC voltage sources are bipolar and range from 5 to 15 volts in magnitude.
- Maximum allowable resistor size is 20kohm (do not add resistors in series to obtain larger values).
- Specify the maximum allowable load range.
You may use any BJT(s), JFET(s) or MOSFET(s) available in the PSpice library. Refer to the circuits presented by Soclof at the end of chapter 3 for ideas.
Write up your design in a report with the following format:
- Cover page including name, course, date and title.
- Description of circuit operation (1 page max).
- PSpice/ORCAD simulation(s) showing that all of the required specifications are met.
- A plot of the output impedance vs. frequency.
- Complete listing of the model parameters of all devices used in the design.
- Characteristic curves of the devices used showing the parameters of the simplified DC model.
