1. Describe why topoisomerases are needed in eucaryotic cells even though eucaryotic DNA molecules are linear, not circular like procaryotic DNA molecules.

3. Topoisomerases are involved in DNA replication, so it makes sense that a drug which messes up topoisomerase activity stops the cell from reproducing. However, in many cases, the cell not only stops reproducing but is also killed because its DNA is broken. Suggest a mechanism for how messing up topoisomerase activity could cause this effect on the cell's DNA.
