ASSIGNMENT

This assignment will be assessing your ability to:

• work in a group (Teamwork)
• think critically
• communicate through writing
• demonstrate your quantitative and empirical skill

STEP 1: GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR GROUP

You have been assigned to a group to complete the Group Activity Assignment. Within your group you will be able to:

•View the members in your group
•Store and share Files
•Start a Discussion
•Send a message
•Create group collaborations (via Google Docs)

All correspondence should occur via Canvas or through in-person meetings on a Collin College campus. I strongly discourage you from using your personal email accounts, phone numbers and social media. If one of your group members is not communicating or not participating within the group then you must attempt to contact them at least three times. If they do not respond within 48 hours of your last attempt then you should notify me of the problem. I will attempt to contact your group member, but if he/she is unresponsive then your group will need to complete the assignment without input from that individual. If the person has never participated in the completion of the assignment then you do not have to include their name on the assignment submission. If the person has contributed minimally then you should include their name but use the peer evaluation form to reflect their lack of participation.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE GROUP ANALYSIS/ANSWERS & REFERENCES SECTION AS A GROUP

You have been given the blood test results of two patients (Jordan and Sancy). Your group should analyze the results of blood tests for each patient as if you were their physician. You will then write physician notes that will be placed in your patient's health records. You will want to address abnormalities within each patient's blood work, identify potential conditions, recommend further testing, and suggest possible treatments. Your group should work together to research and analyze the blood test results of each patient. You should not divide up the analysis. You will need to discuss each patient and the answers. You must communicate from the beginning, perform research individually, and come together at the end. None of you are physicians so I do not expect exhaustive research. I do expect to see well written and researched answers. When writing your notes, they should be in a format that would be easy for you as the physician to refer back to and compare as you continue treating your patient. I am not giving you specifics regarding format. Formatting should be decided upon by the group. I am excited to see what formats you come up with. You will need to cite references; please use APA formatting. I expect this submission to be about 3 pages in length, not including a cover page (optional). A good rule is to have 1 page per patient plus one page for references. You should submit the final version through in Canvas (Group Analysis/Answers with References). Once again, this portion of the

STEP 3: EACH MEMBER MUST COMPLETE & SUBMIT A PEER EVALUATION FORM

Your ability to work in a group (Teamwork) will be assessed by your peers (group members). This will be done through peer reviews. Each member of the group must submit a peer evaluation form. You will evaluate each group member as well as yourself. You will do this by filling out and submitting the peer evaluation form. Use the peer reviews to address any conflicts, lack of teamwork, or success within the group. Conflict is okay as long as the group addresses the conflict and finds a solution. This portion of your grade is earned individually (not as a group).

Your group members will not see your evaluation form and you will not see theirs. You should submit this form via Canvas.
