Accident Proneness

The close observation of accident causation theory brings out this fact that most accidents can be traced to error on the part of a number of individual employees. It could be incidental when one finds that a single individual is found included in several accidents. Such an individual can be identified as accident prone. Throwing out such type of an employee from a company may not provide a solution for the same man might work elsewhere. One better solution may be to place an accident prone person to such workplace where his habits and technique of working may not culminate into accident.

Though, such a person may also be provided with opportunity, training and psychological recommendation to change his way or behave with care in work environment. The psychologists have found that accident prone persons have defective personality, they are impulsive and immature. They may also have poor reaction time and inadequate muscular coordination. It is as well understood that many of these traits can be avoided if proper treatment, training are given and motivation provided. In several cases such direct relationship among the worker and defects may not be found for current status of the person like affect of alcohol, boredom or work fatigue may also become the cause of the accidents.
