problem 1: Derive Darcy weisbach equation.

problem 2: Describe the term ventuirmeter.

problem 3: A horizontal pipe line 40m long is joined to a water tank at one end and discharges freely into the atmosphere at the other end. For the first 25 m of it’s from the tank, the pipe is 150 mm diameter and it suddenly enlarged to 300 mm above the centre of pipe.

Considering all losses of head which occur, find out the rate of flow. Take f = 0.01 for both sections of pipe.

problem 4: Describe all minor losses?

problem 5: An orifice meter with orifice diameter 10 cm is inserted in a pipe of 20 cm diameter. The pressure gauges fitted up strains and downstream of the orifice meter gives readings of 19.62 N/Cm2 and 9.81 N/cm2 respectively.

problem 6: Describe the force excreted by the jet on a stationary flat inclined vane.

problem 7: Describe the force excreted by the jet on moving flat, inclined vanes.
