1. If a sample from a leg wound arrives and bacteria is speculated, why would the sample be streaked onto each of the following agars and what are the expected outcomes for these agars:

• Nutrient Agar (what would you expect to see from a leg wound on nutrient agar) 
• Selective Agar (what would you expect to see from a leg wound on selective agar) 
• Differential Agar (what would you expect to see from a leg wound on differential agar)

2. The nutrient agar shows several different cultures which may or may not be bacteria, based on the gross exam. Why should you Gram stain the samples? What information will that provide and/or rule out?
