What are your thoughts about the AHA recommendation for added sugars (limit added sugars to no more than 100 kcalories per day for women and 150 kcalories per day for men - which is about 5 percent of a 2000- and 2500-kcalorie diet, respectively) versus the DRI (DRI suggests that added sugars should account for no more than 10 percent (this just released - for 2015 - prior to this it was 25%) of the day's total energy intake - on a 2000kcal diet that would be 200kcal). Do you feel that the DRI reduced the recommendation adequately by going down to 10 percent of daily caloric intake?
