You are a manager for a non-profit organization that oversees airplane security. The federal agencies that fund your organization aim to provide passengers with the highest possible levels of security. As such, your staff members perform random luggage searches and ensure that every passenger is thoroughly checked for potential security threats. You have recently received a flurry of complaints from elderly passengers who are upset by the extensive searches and intrusive questions they have been subjected to by some of your airport staff. In light of these complaints, the Board of Directors wants you to provide a report explaining and justifying your staff training methods. In particular, the Board is concerned about how staff members identify passengers who appear to threaten airport security and the methods they use to perform luggage and body searches. The Board wants to hear your reasons for maintaining such a high level of security. Additionally, it would like information about how current security measures compare to those that have been used in the past in terms of effectiveness. Finally, the Board wants to see your plans for improving public relations, especially with elderly passengers.

1. Using an appropriate leadership style, prepare an Executive Summary responding to the Board's requests.

Create a detailed letter that is suitable for publication in the local newspapers stating your position concerning the need to continue the level of high security at the airport. Include justifications for the work you and your staff are doing and suggest recommendations for improving services at airport security, particularly for elderly passengers.

In theletter, outline an education and training planthat will educate the community, including airport security inspectors, about the need to have high security at the airport. Your response should be 2-4 pages and should include references to at least two seminal scholarly works or scholarly works published in the past six years.
