Writing assignment

In "the idea of a university,"John Henry Newman argues for a specific role of the university, concerning what it should teach and why. Write an essay of 2-3 pages in which you answer the following question: How is Newman's idea of a university relevant or not to higher education in today's world?

The introductory paragraph should summarize Newmans idea and end with a thesis statement that provides your answer to the above question. Subsequent paragraphs should perform a critical analysis of Newmans arguement and Should refer to one of other readings for support.
