prepare a 5 page paper in APA style on Burgoon's Expectancy violations theory. (Do not count the title page and the references as part of the five pages.) 

The paper does not require an abstract. The paper does require a References page in APA format. Please prepare a cover page with the title of the paper and your name. Please use at least 10 scholarly sources for your paper. The text can be one source of the ten. Do not cite Wikipedia. Use articles from communication journals as sources. Remember that you do not use contractions in an academic paper.

APA guidelines have very specific rules for how to format a quote over 40 words. In a 5 page paper, I would prefer you stay away from long quotes over 40 words. If you feel compelled, make sure you cite it properly and only use one long quote. More than one quote over 40 words is not allowed in this assignment.

You do not have to use a movie, but you can use a movie or a television show to apply the theory if you choose. If you choose a film, apply what you have learned to evaluate the strengths and limitations of the communicative choices the characters made as well as offer concrete recommendations for improving their communication.
