What is the PICO question? Does the use of a standardized bedside report versus board reporting help increase patient safety, nurse's satisfaction and positive outcome?

What is the practice issue/problem? Bedside reporting has been an issue in practice to this day. It serves as open communication between nurses at shift change, allowing nurses to exchange necessary patient information to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. It also allows the patient the ability to contribute to his or her plan of care. Most importantly, it allows the oncoming nurse an opportunity to meet, assess the patient and ask questions. Unfortunately, not all nurses are being compliant with this practice for that reason I chose this topic to help and encourage nurses the importance of bedside reporting.
