A driving bell has an air space of 3.0m^3 when on the deck of a boat. What is the volume of the air space when the bell has been lowered to a depth of 50m? Take the density of sea water to be 1.025gcm^-3 and assume that the temperature is the same as on the surface. I was able to figure out how to calculate the problem, I do not understand what is occurring here conceptually. If someone could explain what is happening at each step of solving this problem, it would be very helpful.
