Below is the problem. The half-life of a first order reaction (from my book) is supposed to be .693/k. If I plug that in i get an answer of 1260 seconds (or 21 minutes). Does that sound right? For part B, I just treated it as a proportional issue and go ant answer of 1.3M. I don't know how to do part C.
1. The decomposition of N2O5 is first order with a rate constant of 5.50 x 10-4 s-1 at a fixed temperature.
a) What is the half life of this reaction if the initial concentration is 1.40 M. b) Given this same starting concentration, calculate the concentration after 3 minutes. c) How long would it take for the starting concentration to reduce to 0.50 M?
