Were learning about the fall of communism in my history, Ask an Expert

We're learning about the fall of communism in my history class, which my professor said happened in the early 90s after the Soviet Union broke apart. But aren't there still communist governments in the world that are huge and powerful, like China? I'm confused. After the fall of communism, shouldn't there be no more communism? That's what it sounds like... Am I wrong?
