We are stepping back a bit in this discussion topic to DeVito (2013) Chapter 2, "Perception of Self and Others."
Why? Because how we perceive ourselves, and others, is based on years of brain patterns and habits, some
good, some less good. (The good news of this course is that, when we work to become conscious of our patterns
and habits, we can change them!). And this week, reading Chapters 6, 7, and 8,
you may see how your perception patterns effect conversation, relationships, and your conflict management style.

Perception of messages is not as straightforward as we need it to be, nor as easy.
How can our understanding of perception help us become more effective communicators?
