Elements of the summary:

3. Maintain the essence of the source.
a) Your summary must reflect the gist of the original material, in the same order.
b) One simple way to do this is to sum up each paragraph of the source with one sentence of your own, and then connect your sentences into a paragraph.
4. You must cite your source. Since credit must always be given to any material that is not originally your own, you must cite the source of your summary just as you do when you quote.
5. Using quotes in the summary.
a) If you quote words or a sentence from the original source, use quotation marks to indicate that you are quoting from your source.
b) Summaries reflect only the material from your source. Do not include your personal opinions when summarizing (or quoting or paraphrasing).

For this assignment, in addition to creating a well-written summary, you need to include ALL THREE of the following elements:

* Add a long quote with the appropriate in-text citation

* Paraphrase the last sentence of your summary

In addition, your summary needs to meet these requirements:
